Moving to California?
Anyone
moving to California for the first time can easily access a wealth of knowledge
online about their options. An added benefit of doing the research ahead of
time, is the ability to find the absolute best price for moving services,
whether is it for moving furniture, or auto transport.
Overview of the State of California
The first
places one should go to get an overview of California, is the Wikipedia page and the official government website for the state. These sites can help
you to find out an overview of the state, and then what is taking place on the
state government level. The government website also has job openings for those
looking to gain employment with the state.
Then, it
would be helpful to check out the California State Parks and Recreation website, for locations of state parks
throughout the state.
A Real Life Example of Moving to California
Real Life Example of Moving to
California: Ron and
Pearl Goldman lived in Idaho with their two kids. Ron found out that his
father’s health was declining. Earl Goldman (his father) was in a retirement
home in Sacramento, CA. Ron talked to Pearl, and they both felt that it was
important to spend as much time as they could with Earl while he was still
alive. They were financially secure, and decided they were moving to California.
Ron wanted
to just learn more about the city of Sacramento. He went on Wikipedia and found
the page for Sacramento. He learned that
Sacramento had a population of about 478,000 people, and is the fourth largest
metropolitan area in the state of California. Ron found out about the local
university - Sacramento State - and
there is a nationally recognized hospital, the UC Davis Medical Center, in the city. Ron’s research on Sacramento
left him very optimistic about his move.
The first
challenge was to find a place to live. Pearl did an internet search for “homes
in Sacramento, CA” and found 2,391 results. She was surprised to find so many
homes for sales within their price range.
Pearl was
also very interested in finding a good private school for her children. She did
an internet search and found an excellent website with a comprehensive list of private schools in Sacramento, CA.
Ron was
excited about the move. He was ready for a change of scenery, and a new job in
a new place. Ron started by checking out the Sacramento Convention and
Visitor’s Bureau website. There, he found many local events
and things to do with his family. After getting some great ideas for
activities, he was ready to start looking for a prospective job. His search
started on the City of Sacramento website, to see if there were any job openings for the city. There were several
job openings that Ron applied for.
After their
independent research on Sacramento, CA, Ron and Pearl wanted to sit down
together and look at moving companies, and auto transport options. They own
three cars, and the children aren’t old enough to drive.
They
found the following Auto Transport Options for Moving to California:
